The weekend of June 16-18 looms as an incredibly exciting weekend in the world of Australian boxing.

One fight that is flying under the radar however, is the WBC International Minimumweight title bout between Perth’s Alex ‘A Rock’ Winwood (2-0, 2 KOs) and Reyneris Gutierrez (9-0, 2 KOs) of Nicaragua.

This is largely due to Tim Tszyu’s (22-0, 16 KOs) scheduled first defence of the WBO Interim World Super Welterweight title against Carlos Ocampo (35-2, 23 KOs) two days later.

Still, there is every reason to watch the two unbeaten combatants in action.

Set as the main event of Dragon Fire Boxing’s Thunderdome 42 on the evening of June 16, the contest has ramifications for the 105 pound division on a global scale.
