The Super Netball champions will unfurl their premiership flag in round one against the West Coast Fever.
It will set to be an exciting day for the Vixens and their fans with the season opener to be the first game of netball in Melbourne since September 1, 2019.
With the fixture being unveiled today, the Vixens will have eight games in front of their fans at John Cain Arena.
One of those eight matches is a Melbourne Derby against crosstown rivals Collingwood Magpies, set to take place on the Queen’s Birthday public holiday in June.
Melbourne Vixens defender and championship player in Kate Eddy said she’s itching to get in front of the home fans.
“2020 was obviously a great year for us on the court, but and we cannot wait to be running out in front of a home crowd this year and bringing it home to Vixens fans.” Eddy said.
“The aim is to hold up that trophy again. It would be amazing to do that with the Melbourne fans, and our family and friends, because nothing quite beats playing with a home crowd cheering you on.”
Although it is still unconfirmed about the capacity that will be allowed into John Cain Arena come May 1, it will be great to have netball back in Melbourne
