The South Australian pathway athlete is one of a number of emerging players to be playing in their home state, as Petty hopes to lead a renaissance for the team, after celebrating her 50th Super Netball game in 2021.

Petty, Georgie Horjus and Maisie Nankivell have formed a core for the Thunderbirds, and all grew up playing in the Netball SA pathway.
