With the first trial game for the Sunshine Coast Lightning in the books, Lightning goaler Peace Proscovia is glad to be back.

Although the Lightning came up short against its southern rivals in the Queensland Firebirds, there was a greater plan in mind, as Proscovia explains.

“The major focus was to learn how to play with each other.”

Simple instructions from coach Kylee Byrne.

The Lightning goal circle was without seasoned Diamond Steph Wood (injured) and new Diamond Cara Koenen – so it was a new look front end that Proscovia was apart of on the night

“I had Binnian Hunt and Annabelle [Lawrie] [in the attacking circle],” Proscovia said.

“To the best of my knowledge they really performed well.

“They did what they could do which was really awesome, and as a team, I think our connection with them really worked well.

“Obviously we always feel their [Wood and Koenan] absence if they are not on court, we would have loved them to be in, but we know that we will soon be together which is very amazing.

“I [am working on] more of my connection with the midcourt.

“That’s something I am majorly working on and once I nail that then the rest of the things will automatically fall in place.”
