The Round 11 fixture for the Suncorp Super Netball is locked in with the Melbourne Derby set to headline an action packed weekend of netball.

This Morning the Suncorp Super Netball have locked in the fixture for round 11 which includes part two of the Melbourne Derby.

Sunshine Coast Lightning have returned back to the Sunshine Coast after the Victorian Government announced that Brisbane and the Sunshine Coast have been downgraded from red to orange zones.

The Sunshine Coast Lightning will take on the Giants at 3pm on Saturday with the Giants having moved from quarantine to stay at home restrictions.

While the Queensland Firebirds will remain in Melbourne before heading over to Perth to take on the West Coast Fever on Saturday at 9pm (AEST) at RAC Arena.

The highlight of the Round 11 Fixture is the second instalment of the Melbourne Derby with Collingwood and the Melbourne Vixens set to go head to head on Sunday at 1pm.

While the red hot New South Wales Swifts will take on the Adelaide Thunderbirds on Sunday at 3:30pm with a venue still to be confirmed.

NSW Swifts Executive General Manager Nikki Horton said the club still hopeful that they can get back and play in front of the Swifts faithful.

“We understand why the league is making these changes and our team is happy to work collectively to ensure the best outcomes for everyone,” she said.  

“It is certainly disappointing for our players, staff, members, partners and fans to see home games played at neutral venues but whist case numbers in Sydney continue to impact restrictions we are grateful we can play on. 

“We still have a home derby against the Giants and a home game against the Lightning among our matches post Round 11 and we remain hopeful they can be played at Ken Rosewall Area. 

“This is an ever-changing situation but we will ultimately be guided by the health advice that’s provided week by week.”

Netball Australia CEO Kelly Ryan is happy to lock in another action packed round of netball.

“We are continuing to work with state governments and health authorities to protect the season and ensure that all eight clubs play as many home games as possible,” Ryan said.

“We will continue to monitor the health advice and update the fixture on a weekly basis. We are determined to make the season as fair as possible for the teams and give our fans every opportunity to watch live netball.”

West Coast Fever V Queensland Firebirds 9pm (AEST) at RAC Arena

Sunday the 18th of July

Melbourne Vixens V Collingwood Magpies 1pm (AEST) at John Cain Arena

New South Wales Swifts V Adelaide Thunderbirds 3:30pm (AEST) Venue TBC
