Melbourne Stars captain, Glenn Maxwell, has been ruled out of Wednesday’s home opener against the Perth Scorchers at the MCG.
The World Cup hero injured his forearm muscle whilst batting in the Stars’ 103-run loss to the Brisbane Heat last night.
Maxwell continued batting but was dismissed for 23.

As for Nathan Coulter-Nile, he will have scans on his calf over the weekend. The bowling all-rounder did damage to it while bowling, having to push through the final two deliveries of his spell.
Coulter-Nile batted at 11 during the Stars’ innings, however he required a runner.
