In an exciting move for the young team, the Thunderbirds have announced goal attack Horjus as the first to sign on for 2022 and 2023 in her home state.

Following a season as an elevated training partner in 2020, Horjus signed her first official contract ahead of 2021. The Kangaroo Island talent backed up her strong debut season in the Super Netball with a stellar 2021.

She shot 183 goals, recorded 118 goal assists, and topped her side for centre pass receives with 252.

This form saw her rewarded with a place in the 2021/22 Australian Development Squad at just 19 years of age.

“She is an incredibly talented local netballer with strong netball smarts and we’re very excited to see her continue to grow in the coming seasons.

“Georgie is passionate about the club and playing for her state and we’re confident she will play a key role in our club’s future.”

The Thunderbirds announced on Wednesday that Shadine van der Merwe will not be returning to Adelaide in 2022. The club will make further announcements about the squad in the coming days.
