The Brisbane Lions have booked themselves a spot in the 2021 AFLW Grand Final after a heart-stopping win over Collingwood at the Gabba.
The Magpies jumped out of the blocks, kicking the first 2 goals of the game.
Although it took half a quarter for the Lions to get going, when they did they were hard to stop.
The Lions were on the board after a handy goal from livewire Jess Wuetschner saw the momentum shift.
From there the Lions were away, getting themselves a handy 10 point lead going into half time.
They managed to control the ball in their half of the ground for all of that second quarter.
Collingwood answered back and didn’t stop after a surge late in the third quarter, kicking two unanswered goals going into the final quarter.

It was superstar forward Dakota Davidson who was able to put the icing on the cake with a nice goal to finish the game with three total.
In true AFLW fashion, the game was left in the balance in the last with a goal from Ash Brazill with 21 seconds on the clock.
Cathy Svarc did another superb job neutralizing the threat of Brianna Davey in the middle while defender Breanna Koenen kept Chloe Molloy quiet.
Brisbane veteran Lauren Arnell summed up the Lions brilliantly postgame
“This group is a really special bunch of girls, you can see how even the spread is. We don’t have any superstars, we’ve just got an even group of girls who really care about each other,” she said.
The Lions will fly over to Adelaide to take on a Crows team who have been a powerhouse of the AFLW from the start.
