Matt Stone Racing has announced that Jack Le Brocq has signed a multi-year deal with the team and will join its line-up in 2022.

Matt Stone Racing has announced that Jack Le Brocq has signed a multi-year deal with the team and will join its line-up in 2022.

This comes fresh off the news that Todd Hazelwood is returning to the Queensland-based team. Hazelwood and Le Brocq will team up for 2022.

Le Brocq joined the Supercars maingame in 2015. He experienced success claiming his maiden win at the Sydney Super Sprint in 2020 and followed up with another podium at The Bend in the same year.

Team owner Matt Stone is excited about filling out their 2022 line up and is expecting big things from his new driver.

“We are really pleased to have Jack joining MSR for the next few years. For us Jack was the perfect choice,” Stone said.

“We know how good he is from the many battles we’ve had with him in the past and look forward to him contributing to our push to move up the grid.

“Jack beat the likes of Anton De Pasquale and Matt Campbell when he won the Australian Formula Ford Championship, and he was a fierce competitor against us with Todd in Super2.

“We know his best is yet to come in Supercars.”

Le Brocq is pleased to be stepping into the role at a new team and is optimistic about the teams’ position moving forward.

“MSR are racers, pure and simple,” Le Brocq stated.

“The team has made great progress towards the front of the field over the past couple of seasons, so I am very pleased to now have the opportunity to join them and contribute to that progression.

“With the team’s capabilities and its competitive machinery across all levels of Supercars, I see no reason why we won’t be regulars in the top 10 and aiming for podiums and better.

“I have learned a lot these past two seasons, so I am looking forward to putting that into practice.

“After two COVID interrupted seasons, I am also looking forward to getting some stability back into our racing.”

This latest announcement completes Matt Stone Racing’s lineup for 2022 as they bid farewell to both Zane Goddard and Jake Kostecki.

Both Hazelwood and Le Brocq will add some experience to their team which they have rarely held in the past. Matt Stone believes this will be to their advantage.

“It will be good to add a bit of experience into our line-up,” Stone said.

“Matt Stone Racing is traditionally focused on rookies, and it will be good to have guys in the seats with a few years under their belt to take it to the next level in their careers.

“I’m sure they are both very hungry to make some solid steps forward and so is the team.

“We are looking forward to more stability over the next few years with both drivers on multi-year deals so that we can focus on the roll into Gen 3 and capitalising on the new regulations.”

The team will return to racing this weekend in Sydney with both Kostecki and Goddard at the wheel. However, Matt Stone Racing will be keeping an eye on 2022 with both new machinery and now Jack Le Brocq and Todd Hazelwood driving.
