209cm Swan Lachlan McAndrew will make his AFL debut against North Melbourne on Saturday.

The growing injury crisis at the Swans has opened the door for young ruckman Lachlan McAndrew who is set to make his AFL debut against North Melbourne at Marvel Stadium on Saturday afternoon.

The 22-year-old was selected in the 2021 mid-season draft and stands at 209cm tall. McAndrew, a Northern Beaches product, is an athletic tap ruckman who has come up through the ranks of the Swans Academy.

One of the best performers for the Swans’ winless VFL side, McAndrew is averaging 31 hitouts and 12 disposals in the red and white. John Longmire was happy to welcome him into the squad as Tom Hickey misses under concussion protocols.

“We want to turn up, compete and give our members and fans a four-quarter effort,” he said.

“Excitingly, Lachlan McAndrew gets his first game. A local product who came through our academy system.”
