This Friday, Perth prospect Jude Grant kicks off his 2024 at Thunderdome 45, as he sets his sights on the West Australian State Super Middleweight title.

In 2023 Grant enjoyed a successful year, winning all three of his fights to take his record to 5-0.

However, India’s Sandeep Kumar will be his most experienced opponent to date when they fight on Friday, riding a boxing record of six wins and three losses.

If Grant wins, it will be his third state title having collected belts from Super Welterweight and Middleweight.

When talking to the media, the Perth native said that he is looking forward to making a statement, by showing the skills he has developed over the past year.

“Last year was a big learning curve for me, obviously at a new gym, adapting to a new style. I think I came out of it a much better fighter and a much more mature fighter, ” Grant said.

“I’m looking for a very dominant performance. Sandeep [Kumar] has a better record and is my first international opponent.

“I’m looking to put on a show, I don’t think he is anything special, especially with the boys I’m sparring with I think I’m in line for a big performance.”
