In what many people are predicting to be a championship retention at Crown Jewel, Roman Reigns will defend his Undisputed Universal Title against Logan Paul on November 6 in Saudi Arabia. Despite the challenger knowing his back will be against the wall, it hasn’t stopped Paul from dreaming big to achieve the impossible.
The social media sensation made his in-ring debut for WWE at WrestleMania 38 this year and will be competing for the company’s biggest prize in just his third match. After defeating The Miz at SummerSlam, Paul is now looking to end Roman’s historic 780+ day reign as world champion.
There is no doubt that Paul has surprised the WWE Universe with what he has accomplished in the ring thus far and now he is searching for more respect.
“If the WWE fans don’t already respect me, after Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia on November 5th, you will be forced to respect me”, he said.
“You might not like me. I might not be your favorite wrestler, but you will have to respect what I can do in that ring, and that’s my goal.”
It has been quite the transition for Paul, from being a content creator to stepping inside the squared circle in only a matter of months. However, it is something he has embraced and called an evolution.
“It’s been an evolution of how people identify me when they see me in the streets, right?”, Paul said.
“At first it was ‘The Vine Guy,’ and then it became ‘I’ve seen your videos Guy.’ Then it became ‘The YouTube Guy.’
“Then it became ‘Yo, Paul Something, right?’ Then Logan Paul ‘WWE Superstar.’ After all these years, I feel like that title is the one with the most validity.
“Not that I need to be validated, but also it’s awesome that I’m validated with a title like that because immediately you get respect and at the end of the day, everyone just wants to be respected.”

Not only is Paul looking to turn the wrestling landscape on it’s head at Crown Jewel, but he will also be using his match against Roman Reigns as a learning tool and is taking inspiration from his fight with Floyd Mayweather.
“I love knowledge, and when I take on the G.O.A.T’s it’s an opportunity for a masterclass for me”, he said.
“When I fought Floyd Mayweather, I wasn’t just fighting Floyd Mayweather, I was paying attention to every single nuanced movement that he did.
“I’m positive Roman’s going to have some stuff up his sleeve and I’m going to be paying attention to all of it and use it and put it in my arsenal for when I become the WWE Champion.
“He’s the Tribal Chief. I’m the Tribal Thief.
“I’m stealing this match and becoming the face of the WWE. Run it back. Clip it. Put it on ESPN. Bang.”
As much as Paul is looking forward to his main event against Reigns, he is also eager to experience Saudi Arabia and named the other countries he would like to visit with WWE for a Premium Live Event.
“I would love to see The Line”, he said.
“My boys and I think it’s so cool and if I can make my way over there and see what they’re planning on doing to make this cityscape skyscraper, I’m gonna go ahead and do that.
“I’ve got two countries I’m looking at.
“I’m making the push. India. Australia. We’re coming hard, fast, strong. I love these countries. I’ve never been to either.”
Finally, Paul expressed his gratitude for WWE Chief Content Officer, Triple H who has been an “incredible”, guide for him in his pursuit of becoming a WWE Superstar.
“He is very generous with his time and his energy and he’s so intentional when he speaks and when he gives me advice”, Paul said.
“I know that every single word that comes out of his mouth is extremely valuable, so he takes the time to point me in the right direction and guide me”.
WWE Crown Jewel will stream live on the WWE Network on Sunday, November 6 at 3am AEDT. Other matches announced for the event are Brock Lesnar vs Bobby Lashley, The Judgment Day vs The O.C., Drew McIntyre vs Karrion Kross and Braun Strowman vs Omos.
