“He’s a game changing talent in a lot of ways, he’s really hit a comfort level now and the sky is the limit.”
WWE Executive Vice President of Global Talent Strategy & Development Triple H (Paul Levesque) has high hopes for Australian talent Bronson Reed.
In an NXT TakeOver XXX media conference call, Triple H said Reed, who will compete in a ladder match for the NXT North American Championship on Saturday, has got what it takes to make it big.
“He’s not the prototypical look or whatever, but that’s what I love about him,” he said.
“I love the differences in everybody, not looking for one model of what people look like, talk like, we want them to be themselves.
“It’s hard when they walk through the door, there’s a pre-conceived expectation of what we’re looking for sometimes.
“They think they believe they know what you want and what’s being looked for.
“There’s a lot of factors that go into it, intimidation factors of walking in the door, performing on a different platform, leaving home, coming into a completely different country, different world, they’re all factors in people’s success rate and their speed.
“At the same point in time, you want it to be when he’s ready to utilise all those things.
“He’s there now and ready.”
Triple H said Reed had also received praise from beers.
“There’s another guy who’s quite similar, Keith Lee was watching him in the ring and said he’s so proud of him, he’s come into his own in this brand recently,” he said.
“It takes a minute for you to realise that I think, everyone has their own time frame of that I think.
“For a guy like Bronson, with that opportunity, he’s knocking it out of the park every week, and his future is bright and I can’t say enough good stuff about him.
“I’m excited this Saturday, he’s one of these guys that’s up into the 300lb range climbing an 8-12ft ladder, it’s not the climb it’s the coming down part that’s a bit skiffy but he can do all that.
“You usually look at the smaller guys and think there’s going to be all these flips, but you look at him and there’s going to be a 300lb version of that.”
