GIANTS Netball will usher in a new era, appointing Jamie-Lee Price and Jo Harten as co-captains for SSN 2024.

Giants Netball have ushered in a new era, unveiling midcourter Jamie-Lee Price as club captain alongside Jo Harten for the upcoming Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) season.

Price has spent the last three seasons as vice-captain. Her new appointment of co-captain sees Price become the Giants third captain in club history.

The newly appointed co-captain shared her excitement, saying that she was thrilled with the opportunity.

“It’s a privilege to call myself a member of the Giants team and an absolute honour to be able to co-captain alongside Jo this year,” Price said.

“To be able to help lead the team with [Harten] is something that is very special. She’s a phenomenal person, player and leader, and I’m sure I’ll continue to learn so much as I lead alongside her.”

For Harten, it will mark her fifth season as club captain. The former English Rose has held the captaincy title since taking over from inaugural club captain Kim Green back in 2020.

Harten is looking forward to working alongside her fellow new co-captain.

“As a relatively young club, I’m proud of the steps we take in order to achieve more and be better, always striving for the ultimate success,” Harten said.

“With that said, leadership does not always come easy and my ambition is to maintain our integrity while turning every stone alongside Jamie-Lee, asking more of our group as we inspire each other to greater heights.”
