Former Vixens training partner Rudi Ellis returns to Melbourne for the 2024 Super Netball season.

Defender Rudi Ellis has been at the West Coast Fever for the past two seasons plying her trade under captain Courtney Bruce, winning a premiership in the process. She was with the Queensland Firebirds previously, playing 31 games in total.

The 26-year-old was part of the Vic Fury’s Australian Netball League premiership side in 2019, while she was a Vixens training partner. She also served as a training partner for a brief stint with the NSW Swifts.

Ellis was a part of the Australia Under 21 squad in 2017 and Australian Development Squad for 2021/2022.

“I’m really pleased to welcome Rudi back to our group, it’s great to see how much she’s developed since she was in our environment and I’m looking forward to the opportunity to coach her again,” said Head Coach Simone McKinnis.

“We’ve seen Rudi performing at SSN level for the past few years and we think she’s an ideal fit for us, she offers something different with that extra height and reach which will boost our defensive unit’s versatility when we look to combat different attacking styles.”
