South Australian Tayla Williams has re-signed with the reigning premiers for two seasons, fighting off interest from rival SSN clubs.
After two seasons to remember, one of which included her debut and the other, a premiership winning season, midcourter Williams will continue her career at her home club.
Recording the third highest Nissan Net Points (793), along with 205 feeds and 172 goal assists (second for the Thunderbirds in both), Williams did not have a case of the second-year blues.
Starting more often in centre than her first season, she held down the position over both her captains Hannah Petty and Maisie Nankivell. Petty and Nankivell could then be used as players of impact, which Petty particularly did well for Adelaide.
Williams obtained the most pick-ups for the Thunderbirds (36) and was fourth in deflections (31).

Pitre Bourdon, the High Performance Manager of the Thunderbirds spoke about Williams’ re-signing.
“Tayla has strong instincts for the game and had a real impact on court in 2023,” Bourdon said.
“She provides us with great versatility through our midcourt and we look forward to working with her again in 2024 and 2025.”
