Steph Fretwell (née Wood) will be continuing her journey with the Sunshine Coast Lightning after the former Australian netball international re-signed for the 2024 season.

The news comes off the back of a stellar 2023 season for the Captain, where she made 1049.5 Nissan Net Points across her 14 Suncorp Super Netball games.

The Sunshine Coast already has a host of big names, including former Melbourne Vixen Liz Watson, who has joined Fretwell in committing to the club for season 2024.

“There was never a doubt in my mind about returning to Lightning for another season,” Fretwell said on her return to the Lightning.

“This Club is my home and I wouldn’t want to be anywhere else.

“I’m really excited to return for my eighth season and I’m looking forward to seeing what we can achieve in 2024.”
