The Adelaide 36ers will honour the 1998-99 NBL Championship team this Saturday against Melbourne United by wearing the jersey it donned 25 years ago.
The 36ers defeated the now defunct Victoria Titans, coached by current Boomers mentor Brian Goorjian, 2-1 in the series to win back-to-back titles.
Looking at the jersey last month, 36ers interim coach Scott Ninnis couldn’t hold back his smile.
“That brings a smile to my face obviously,” he said.
“That was just an incredible time in the club’s history and to be part of that.
“I’d like to see us still wearing it to be honest.
“That logo and that uniform is really good memories.”
The 36ers are currently languishing in last on the NBL24 table, three wins below ninth-placed Brisbane.
