Ahead of the Firebirds' pre-season clash with the SSN reigning premiers, Tippah Dwan shares her excitement of going up against her old side.

Although it’s only a Suncorp Super Netball (SSN) pre-season game, Tippah Dwan is looking forward to the challenge of taking on her former club the Adelaide Thunderbirds.

The 24-year-old revealed her thoughts ahead of the upcoming game which is set for this Sunday.

“Yeah, I think it will be a bit strange. But Adelaide is kinda like my home away from home. So I’ll be very comfortable there, especially in the stadium. So it’ll be a lot of fun,” Dwan said this week.

Dwan made her return to the club following her departure from the Thunderbirds in the off-season.

Though it was no hard feelings for her, with Dwan praising the reigning premiers for their quality of defence on the court.

“I hope I have a few tips to give to the girls. I do hopefully know their structure a bit unless they’ve changed that this year,” she said.

“But you know, they’re the best defensively. It’s gonna be a tough competition, especially coming up against them. But I’m excited to be going up against them again,”

Following their recent pre-season matchup against the Giants, Dwan shared that the performances of the younger players on the team had her looking forward to the start of the SSN 2024 season, which gets underway in April.

“It was cool to get some of the young girls on the court as well. I think having our whole squad there pretty much was really exciting and you can see the talent that’s coming through the Netball Queensland pathways,” she said.

“But it was great to get that first half. We had an amazing first half, it was incredible. So we can take it to this weekend to get two halves.”
