The round kicked off with two matches on Thursday night, as Wigan Warriors kept up their impressive start to the season with a 22-12 win over Huddersfield Giants. Ex-Rabbitoh Chris McQueen was again on the scoresheet for the Giants to make it four tries in three games, and there was a try in a losing effort for ex-NRL five-eight Tui Lolohea too.

In the other match of the night, Catalans Dragons overcame the late sin-binning of Mitchell Pearce to hold on to a 10-4 win over Leeds Rhinos, for whom Blake Austin scored the only try.

And in the day’s later game, newly-promoted Toulouse Olympique put up a battling display against Warrington Wolves, only to fall short in a 32-18 defeat. Former Raiders five-eighth George Williams scored one try and created another for the Wolves.
