Leeds Rhinos’ miserable start to 2022 continued on Thursday night, as they were rolled over 31-8 by Hull FC. Former Rabbitoh, Joe Lovodua was among the try-scorers for the Black & Whites, who kept the Rhinos scoreless for the opening 74 minutes.
The headline match on Friday saw St Helens steamroller Warrington Wolves 28-2 to maintain their 100 percent start to the year. Brothers Sione and Peter Mata’utia were on opposite sides, with the younger Sione emerging victorious.

Friday night’s other matches also saw Salford Red Devils go down 26-16 to Hull KR, with former Cowboy Shane Wright scoring one of the consolation tries, and a first win of the year for Wakefield Trinity, who overcame winless Toulouse Olympique, 18-6. Former Manly forward Kelepi Tanginoa was among the scorers for Trinity.
On Saturday, Premiership-winning Shark, Ricky Leutele was the hat-trick hero for Huddersfield Giants as they made it four wins from five in a 36-24 victory over Castleford Tigers.
And in the final match of the round, Catalans Dragons dominated Wigan Warriors in a 28-0 win in the South of France, with former NSW half Mitchell Pearce adding another couple of tries to his tally.
