Melbourne will enter their Preliminary Final clash with Adelaide full of confidence after a strong performance against Fremantle last week.
On the other hand, Adelaide will look to defend its 2019 premiership and play in the club’s third grand final in five year.
After finishing the home-and-away season at the top of the table, the Crows will go into the match-up with the Demons as favourites.
However, Melbourne is in the midst of a late-season form surge which has seen them take all comers and seen them surge into the final 4 teams this year.
The Demons will be hoping to have captain Daisy Pearce return from her knee injury, with the star forward being closely monitored by the club’s high-performance staff as she looks to complete the miracle comeback.
If Pearce is sidelined, Melbourne will have to rely on Kate Hore, Shelley Scott, and Alyssa Bannan as their main avenues to goal.
Adelaide is looking forward to taking a full-strength side to Adelaide Oval, with the last time the side playing at the ground being the 2019 premiership win.
The Crows will be hoping star Erin Phillips will continue her red-hot form into the clash, with the midfielder averaging 18.3 disposals and 1.3 goals per game.
Phillips will have Ebony Marinoff in the centre square alongside her, with the damaging midfielder third in the competition for metres gained, behind GWS’s Alyce Parker and Melbourne’s Karen Paxman.
Paxman is one player the Crows will have to watch out for, with the Demons halfback in career-best form.
Paxman has averaged 22.2 disposals, 4.1 score involvements, and 3.5 intercept possessions a game, and is in line to receive her fifth straight All-Australian guernsey.
Melbourne will take confidence in the fact it won the previous battle between the two clubs.
When these two sides met in round seven, the Demons triumphed 6.7.43 to 2.3.15 at Casey Fields.
