There was plenty for coaches to think about coming into the second last round of the year, with some injuries to cover.
Then on Saturday, some of the competition’s biggest names were ruled out before the Fremantle and Melbourne game, throwing an extra bit of chaos into the mix.

Rookie of the Week:
In what was an otherwise disappointing night for Fremantle fans in its loss to Melbourne, Dana East had her best performance of the year.
East’s game consisted of 18 touches and an impressive seven tackles which gave her a score of 76. This game also saw her take out one of the NAB Rising Star nominations for the round.
These are the breakevens of players that scored in the previous round.
Sarah Wielstra: Fremantle, 5
Rachel Kearns: Geelong, 6
Alyssa Bannan: Melbourne, 13
Sadly it is the last week of the competition, but that means there shouldn’t be too much stress when it comes to making trades this week.
Hopefully for coaches, it is all about maintaining a good position or trying to crack into the top 100 of the competition if you are lucky to be there.
If you happen to still have a rookie on your field and you have some cash left in the bank, try and trade them out if they aren’t scoring well. This week is all about ending the season on a high note!
