The AFL Trade Period reaches its conclusion at 7:30 tonight, with deals still left to be done before deadline day runs its course.

With 14 moves so far across both trade and free agency, the AFL Trade Period closes today at 7:30pm (AEDT).

Deadline Day

7:30pm: That’s the deadline! Bobby Hill and Rory Lobb don’t find their ways to new clubs.

7:20pm: Cal Twomey is reporting that Max Lynch will be traded to the Hawks for their future third-rounder and the Brisbane future third gained from the Ceglar trade. The Hawks will also receive Freo’s future third and the Suns’ future fourth from the Pies. Ruck roulette complete!

7:15pm: Riley Beveridge reports Ladhams heads to the Harbour City along with Pick 16, with Pick 12 and a future third-rounder going to Port.

7:13pm: DEAL DONE! Peter Ladhams is a Swan.

7:06pm: Details of the ruck merry-go-round: Cats send Fort and Pick 41 to the Lions with Pick 50 and a future third-rounder coming back. Ceglar and future fourth to get to the Cats with that Brisbane future third. Max Lynch compensation not yet confirmed.

6:54pm: Tom Browne is reporting that the Pies offered Pick 27 and a future third-rounder for Bobby Hill, with the Giants rejecting that offer. Hill is set to remain in the orange and charcoal for 2022.

6:52pm: Pick 22 and a future third-rounder will go to the Cats, with them sending back Clark and a future-fourth selection.

6:51pm: Cal Twomey is reporting that Jordan Clark is a Docker! Details to come.

6:17pm: DEALS ARE CLOSE. Darcy Fort, Jon Ceglar and Max Lynch are set to find new homes – details to come as they are announced.

6:12pm: GWS list boss Jason McCartney has taken to Sportsday Radio on the Bobby Hill trade – “It’s never been live to be honest.. he’s a required player”.

5:48pm: Bobby Hill’s manager Colin Young says Hill has been interested in a trade to Victoria over the past two years.

5:30pm: Cal Twomey is reporting that Bobby Hill is adamant he does not want to go back to the Giants.

5:21pm: The Peter Ladhams deal is moving along slowly, with Tom Morris reporting that the Power are asking the Swans to slide back from Pick 12 to 16 in the first round, and add a future second or Pick 31.

4:50pm: North Melbourne is “adamant” that a future second-round pick must be involved with the Tristan Xerri to St Kilda deal. The Saints are currently offering up a future third-rounder with a later pick swap – Riley Beveridge of AFL Media.

4:40pm: Mitch Cleary of 7 News reports that Collingwood remains an interested party in the Bobby Hill situation – if Hill decides to open up his options in Melbourne the Pies could potentially swoop in with a better offer than the Dons have put forth (future second-round pick).

4:00pm: The Giants have not put forth a counter-offer to the Bombers for Bobby Hill, reports the Herald Sun.

3:33pm: The Herald Sun is reporting that GWS has rejected Essendon’s offer of a future second round selection for Bobby Hill. The 21-year-old small forward is trying to get to Victoria for further support for his family.

2:47pm: Cal Twomey is reporting that GWS has enquired about Luke Breust’s availability, with the veteran Hawk unwilling to move. The Giants have been prepared to use Pick 13 in a trade for Breust or Chad Wingard, with the two clubs edging towards an agreeable deal but Breust not prepared to leave the club.

2:20pm: Jarrod Brander is set to be a delisted free agent after the Eagles couldn’t find a suitable trading partner, as according to Tom Morris. As a DFA he can be picked up by any of the 17 clubs.

1:45pm: Fox Footy’s Tom Morris reporting that the final offer has been tabled to get Bobby Hill to Essendon.

1:02pm: AFL House has received the official lodgement. Jordan Dawson joins Adelaide in exchange for a 2022 first-round selection tied to Melbourne. If the Demons can back up their premiership year with at least a top four finish, this pick could work out to between 15 and 18 before academy and father/son bids.

Dawson nominated Adelaide nearly a month ago now, the deal going through various stages of negotiation before being finalised.

12:55pm: We’ve got news! Reports are coming through that the paperwork for Sydney’s Jordan Dawson to join Adelaide has been lodged. We know for sure it involves a future first-round pick, tied to Melbourne, being sent. We’ll have the finer details once the AFL makes it official.

10:10am: Welcome to The Inner Sanctum’s live blog of the AFL Trade Period’s deadline day! Trades don’t open until midday, but there is one deal already expected to go through as it starts with the paperwork for Sydney’s Jordan Dawson’s move to Adelaide is all but set.

Other deals expected to go through include Ian ‘Bobby’ Hill to Essendon from GWS, Darcy Fort from Geelong to Brisbane, Tristan Xerri from North Melbourne to St Kilda, and Peter Ladhams from Port Adelaide to Sydney.
