Vasiljevic joined the 36ers midway through the NBL24 campaign and has had an instant impact, averaging 18.9 points and 3.1 assists per game.
“DJ is not just a great player, but an outstanding young man. He has electrified 36ers fans with his talent, tenacity, and commitment,” Kelley told the Adelaide 36ers website.
“We are delighted to have signed DJ to a multi-year deal.
“He will be a vital piece of or Club’s future for years to come.”
The former Sydney Kings guard said it was an easy decision to remain in South Australia.
“This decision was a no-brainer for me, I am somewhere where I am wanted,” Vasiljevic said.
“I could have tested the free agency market, but I’m where I want to be.
“This season has been great in front of sell out home crowds and I’m looking forward to building on that over the next three years.
“I think this club has a great history with all the championships and past players and I want to bring that back to the city of Adelaide,’ Vasiljevic said.
“I want to give my all for the club and the city and hopefully we can build from here, it’s exciting times.”
The 36ers take on Vasiljevic’s former club, the Sydney Kings, on Friday.
